Sanja Brdar

Data Fusion, Machine Learning, Explainable AI

Sanja Brdar is a senior researcher and head of the Centre for Information Technologies at BioSense Institute. She holds a PhD degree from the University of Novi Sad and was a visiting researcher at University of Ljubljana and Humboldt University of Berlin. Her research interests include data fusion, machine learning, explainable AI and bioinformatics. She works on ensemble methods, data fusion, clustering and predictive modelling with applications in biology, agriculture, environmental sciences and health. She enjoys participating in worldwide data science challenges.

Nastasija Grujić

GIS, Agent-Based Modeling, Data Analytics

Nastasija Grujić is a Junior Researcher at the Center for Information Technologies, BioSense Institute and a PhD student in Geoinformatics at the University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Technical Sciences. She was twice a guest researcher at the University of Wageningen, where she got acquainted with modeling complex and stochastic systems through agent-based simulation. Her particular research interest span a wide range of data analytics, machine learning, and geoinformatics which are used for better understanding and simulating the complex spatial systems through individual and agent-based simulations. 

Olivera Novović

GIS, Graph analytics, BigData, HPC

Olivera Novović is a DataScientist in GridDynamics company, and external associate at BioSense Institute. At the time she is finalizing her PhD studies at the Faculty of Sciences with the thesis title “BigData analytics applied in space-time human dynamics research”.  Main topic of her PhD research involves telecom data analytics, BigData technologies and human dynamics associated with geographical space. She holds a MSc in Geodesy and Geoinformatics from the Faculty of Technical Sciences.

Nikola Obrenović

Mathematical Optimization, Operations Research, Machine Learning

Nikola Obrenović works as a Senior Researcher at the Center for Information Technologies, BioSense Institute. He received his PhD degree from the University of Novi Sad, in applied computer science. Before joining BioSense, Nikola was a postdoctoral researcher at École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland, and an Assistant Professor at the Department of Power, Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering, University of Novi Sad. His research interests include mathematical optimization, operations research, machine learning, databases, and model-driven software engineering.

Predrag Lugonja

GIS, Remote Sensing, Machine Learning

Predrag Lugonja is a researcher at BioSense Institute. He graduated from the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Department of Power, Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering. He is currently in the final year of his PhD studies at the Faculty of Technical Sciences. He has been working in the fields of GIS and remote sensing.

Vladan Minić

GIS, Databases, Web development

Vladan Minić is a Manager of the Product Development Center at BioSense Institute. He received M.Sc. degree on Faculty of Technical Sciences. He participates in many national and international projects within BioSense Institute. His main research interests are wireless sensor networks and image processing, but he also performed the duties of a system administrator. His expertise covers Linux and Windows systems; Web development, databases and GIS tools. He also likes hardware and embedded systems.

Prof. Vladimir Crnojević

Remote Sensing, GIS, Image processing

Prof. Vladimir Crnojević is Director of the BioSense Institute, Full Professor in Computer Sciences at the University of Novi Sad, Serbia and Associate Professor Extraordinary at the Department of Mathematical Science, Stellenbosch University, South Africa. He obtained his PhD in Image Processing in 2004. In 2015 he founded the BioSense Institute – the regional leader in EU (FP7 and H2020) projects, including flagship projects such as ANTARES, IoF2020 – Internet of Food and Farm 2020 and SmartAgriHubs. Vladimir’s current research interests include machine learning, image processing, remote sensing, big data and IoT with application in agrifood and biosystems.

Milica Milovanović

Full stack developer

Milica Milovanović works as junior associate at BioSense Institute since October 2019. She received a bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Serbia in 2019 in the area of Information technologies. She is finishing a master programme also in in the area of Information technologies. Currently, her main responsibility within the BioSense Institute is developing web applications.

Nevena Rokvić

Full stack developer

Nevena Rokvić is a software developer at the Product Development Centre at BioSense Institute. She graduated from the Faculty of Technical Sciences, department of Computing and Control Engineering, and studied as an exchange student at the University of Alcala and University of Ljubljana. She is currently finishing a master programme that covers different machine learning topics at the Faculty of Technical Sciences.

Željko Bajić

Full stack developer

Željko Bajic works as senior associate of the Product Development Center at BioSense Institute, part time since June 2016. and full time since October 2018. He received a bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Serbia in 2011. and master’s degree in 2013. both in area of Information technologies. Currently, his main responsibility within the BioSense Institute is developing web based applications and helping junior associates. He participates in many national and international projects within BioSense Institute.
